La Salle rules FCBL hoops

MANILA, Philippines—La Salle completed its fairy tale run by downing Lyceum, 59-43, to rule the FCBL Dickies Cup recently at the Philippine Buddhacare gym in Quezon City.

With Aracelie Abaca and Hannah Viterbo at the firing end, the Lady Archers turned what was expected to be a close and exciting finale to into a rout.

Like in their stunning 70-67 win over Adamson in the semis, Abaca energized her teammates with clutch baskets in the first half before Viterbo and Alyanna Ong joined the fray in the third quarter to help the Lady Archers outscore the Lady Pirates, 18-9, for a 45-30 lead.

Abaca had 19 points and 15 rebounds to win not only the Dickies Underwear Player of the Game award but also the coveted MVP award in the event also backed by Smart, Mang Inasal, Home Depot and Powerhouse.
