MANILA, Philippines—Kenyans ruled anew in the Discovery Channel Vertical 10K Run recently at the Stamford Executive Residences in McKinley Hill, Taguig City.

Philip Ronoh topped the men’s division with a time of 40 minutes and three seconds, beating closest pursuer Reggie Lumawag by five minutes.

Irene Kipchumba clocked 49:52 in the women’s side to edge second-placer Ann Barcena (51:25).

Ronoh and Kipchumba—two of several Kenyans regularly competing in local races—pocketed P15,000 each, months after the duo won the Mayon Trail Run and a Tarlac regional race.

Aver Sister (48:32) rounded up the podium finishers in the men’s race, while Luisa Ratera (52:07) ranked third in the women’s division.

Another Kenyan topped the 5K race as Willy Tanui triumphed in 16:03.
