MANILA, Philippines—PetroGazz overcame a second-set shock to turn back PacificTown-Army, 25-12, 29-27, 25-15, Saturday and stay unbeaten in five matches in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Angels have not dropped a single set all conference but that record was put in serious danger in the second when the Lady Troopers took a 22-17 lead en route to taking two set-points.
But PetroGazz imports Wilma Salas and Janisa Johnson scored the clutch hits as they ride into the playoffs holding a five-game sweep of the first round.
It was PacificTown’s second defeat in four matches.
