MANILA, Philippines—Creamline got its act together after a disastrous opening set to defeat Motolite, 13-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-23, Saturday for its third straight win in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Kuttika Kaewpin banged in 17 points for the Cool Smashers who improved to 3-1, just behind the unbeaten leader PetroGazz Angels.
With comebacking coach Tai Bundit calling the shots once again, Creamline was caught flatfooted as it ran smack against a determined Motolite side in the first frame.
But the Cool Smashers gathered their wits, out-attacking in the second set, 12-6, and then witnessing the Motolite Spikers self-destruct with 13 unforced errors in the third set.
Kaewpin scored two of her points in the later fourth set when Motolite was trying to get back racing from 21-17 to 24-23.
Motolite suffered its fourth defeat in as many games.
