PetroGazz loses a set, beats Banko Perlas for 6-0 card
MANILA, Philippines—Things are beginning to get a little tougher for PetroGazz.
The unbeaten leader yielded its first set in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference but still got enough oomph to defeat BanKo Perlas, 25-23, 25-11, 22-25, 25-20 Wednesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Falling into complacency after wining the first two frames, the Angels found a determined bunch in the Perlas Spikers who were looking or a milestone win.
Article continues after this advertisementBut PetroGazz imports Wilma Salas and Janisa Johnson buckled down to work in the fourth to power the Angels to their sixth victory in as many games.
Salas scored 37 points for PetroGazz, which is eyeing the top spot in the Final Four.
The Perlas Spikers dropped to 2-4.
