Orchard hosts conference on changes, updates

The Orchard Golf and Country Club recently hosted the 2019 Philippine Golf Course Management Conference in an effort to disseminate relevant information about the game—changes, updates and other pertinent details—to all the golf clubs in the country.

“Changes are inevitable and we have to keep abreast of what’s happening around the world. The mission of the summit is to make the info available to all stakeholders without spending unnecessarily to send them abroad,” said The Orchard chair Vicente Santos.

The summit was attended by 147 participants, composed of golf course superintendents, maintenance supervisors and managers, golf directors, club managers, general managers, president and industry practitioners from LuzViMin and International personalities.

The first part had James Shippey, managing director of Absolute Golf Services, as speaker for the topic “Developing a Tourist Friendly Golf Operation” while 59club Asia’s operations manager Araya Singhsuwan spoke on the “Benefits of Benchmarking and Surveying.”
