Imports Krystel Esdelle and Channon Thompson scored clutch points late in the fifth set as Motolite escaped with a 25-23, 21-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-13 win over PacificTown-Army Sunday night in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at Imus City Sports Complex.
Just when the Lady Troopers were mounting an assault, coming from 12-7 to 12-11 in the deciding frame, Esdelle came through with a kill-block before Thompson scored on a smash to put the Motolite spikers at match point.
A service error and a Jenelle Jordan block gave PacificTown its last stand at 14-13, before a stunning miscue ended it all for the Lady Troopers.
Motolite has now won its second straight win after losing its first four games, while PacificTown slid to 3-3.
