MANILA, Philippines—The rich just got richer.

Barangay Ginebra has acquired superstar guard Stanley Pringle from NorthPort in a four-player deal, the PBA announced Tuesday.

The Gin Kings sent Sol Mercado, Kevin Ferrer and Jervy Cruz in exchange for Pringle, who is one of the best players in the league today.

Pringle bolsters an already stacked Ginebra squad that features premiere playmakers Scottie Thompson and LA Tenio as well as towering big men Japeth Aguilar and Greg Slaughter.

The 32-year-old Pringle has played only two games in the ongoing 2019 Commissioner’s Cup after undergoing surgery to remove bone spurs in his right ankle at the latter part of the 2019 Philippine Cup.

Despite Pringle’s absence, NorthPort managed to win give of its first six games this conference.

Mercado, on the other hand, is averaging 6.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 23 minutes per game this conference.

Cruz and Ferrer may be joining a new team but they will be playing for a familiar face in head coach Pido Jarencio, who was their former college mentor at University of Santo Tomas.
