Creamline got its revenge on PetroGazz Saturday night.

The Cool Smashers scored a thrilling 25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 26-24 victory to grab a share of the lead in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.

Jia Morado tossed 23 excellent sets aside from scoring eight points as Creamline kept PetroGazz at bay before scoring a big-time fourth-set heist at Filoil Flying V Centre.

Wilma Salas and Janisa Johnson tried to extend the match for PetroGazz, firing a hail of shots for a 24-21 lead to raise the specter of a fifth set. But Creamline scored five straight points—two from Alyssa Valdez—to inflict on the Angels their first defeat in the conference.

Valdez credited coach Tai Bundit for the win, saying his timely reminder during a timeout he called on PetroGazz’s set point calmed the Cool Smashers.

“We got a different mind-set because coach told us that if we lose the set, we [still] go [to] five sets and if we win, we take the match,” Valdez said.

The two teams, who were already assured of semifinal berths even before their match, now share 7-1 records.

Earlier, Motolite defeated BaliPure, 23-25, 23-25, 25-14, 25-14, 15-12.
