Ara Galang, shaking off the injury bug that has weighed her down the past seasons, showed how deadly she can be when healthy as she powered F2 Logistics to a 25-9, 23-25, 25-22, 25-16 victory over Foton in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference on Saturday night at Imus City Sports Complex in Cavite.
The Cargo Movers stayed unbeaten with their third straight win to keep the tournament lead.
“I just do whatever is asked of me by coach [Ramil de Jesus],” said Galang, who scored 19 points. “I’m willing to try whatever coach instructs me.”
Against Foton, Galang was tasked to keep the tall Tornadoes busy with her offensive threat, allowing the likes of Kalei Mau, Aby Maraño, setter Michelle Cobb and libero Dawn Macandili to do their jobs.
The talented Foton lineup still struggled with its chemistry and got blown off the first set as the Cargo Movers scored four kill-blocks and four aces. Foton dropped to 1-2.
Earlier, Jorelle Singh provided the spark PLDT Home Fibr needed in scoring a come-from-behind win over Sta. Lucia Realty, 22-25, 20-25, 25-16, 25-20, 15-8.
