MANILA, Philippines—PetroGazz needed just three sets to dispose of PacificTown-Army and get back to winning orbit, 29-27, 25-20, 25-14, Sunday in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at Alonte Sports Center in Binan, Laguna.
After an extended opening set, the Angels stepped on it through imports Janisa Johnson and Wilma Salas to eventually retake the solo leadership with an 8-1 record.
It was a big bounce from PetroGazz’s five-set defeat to Creamline on Saturday as the Angels handed the Lady Troopers’ fourth defeat in eight games.
Djanel Cheng ran the offense for the Angels, distributing 13 excellent set aside from scoring three markers.
