Stanley Pringle dazzles in Ginebra debut
MANILA, Philippines—Stanley Pringle had a triumphant debut for Barangay Ginebra, helping the Gin Kings beat the NLEX Road Warriors on Sunday in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Batangas City Coliseum.
Pringle finished with 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in close to 36 minutes in Ginebra’s 100-85 win.
Article continues after this advertisementThe 32-year-old guard, who was traded by NorthPort on Tuesday in exchange for Sol Mercado, Kevin Ferrer and Jervy Cruz, drove past two defenders for a layup at the 10:22 mark of the first quarter for his first basket as a Gin King.
Pringle played only two games for the Batang Pier this conference after undergoing surgery to remove bone spurs in his right ankle towards the latter part of the Philippine Cup.
Justin Brownlee led Ginebra (4-3) with 37 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and five steals.
