MANILA, Philippines–Nicole Tiamzon, exploded with 19 points including five in the big third-set breakaway, to lift BanKo Perlas to a 25-18, 25-19, 25-21 victory over BaliPure Wednesday in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at FilOil Flying V Center.
Tiamzon conspired with Kath Bersola as the Perlas Spikers broke free from 17-all and ensured their fourth win in nine games, tying PacificTown-Army at second place.
When it appeared that BanKo Perlas was cruising to an easy win, BaliPure fought back and tried to make the game close.
But at 17-all, Tiamzon slammed down from the right flank, taking turns with Bersola who scored three points including a kill-block from BaliPure import Dani Vajdova.
The Water Defenders, already of the running, suffered their ninth loss in as many games.
