Balanga Chooks, Isabela City go winless in Haining Challenger

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines is going home winless in the main draw of Honxiang Holdings Haining Challenge Saturday in Zhejiang, China.

After its loss to Liman earlier, Balanga Chooks suffered a brutal 22-10 (2:22) setback to Russian club Sosnovy Bor to drop to 0-2.

Travis Franklin had four points for Balanga while Alvin Pasaol added three.

Isabela City didn’t fare any better after getting trampled 22-14 (:06) by Moscow Inanomo in its second game of the day.

Still, it was a morale-boosting performance for newbie Isabela City, which fielded just three men in the qualifying tournament for the Montreal Masters.

Franky Johnson’s visa did not make it on time for the tournament while Troy Rike could not play for Isabela City after playing for Pasig before.

Marcus Hammonds carried Isabela City with 10 points while Gab Banal added four.
