BaliPure import goes viral after frustrating loss to Creamline
Creamline logged its ninth straight victory to end the elimination round on a high note, but something else stole the spotlight from their 25-19, 25-15, 25-18 victory over BaliPure on Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at Filoil Flying V Centre.
Import Danijela Dzakovic became a viral hit after the game when a clip of her hitting libero Jewelle Bermillo in the head in the first set made its rounds online.
BaliPure coach Rommel Abella said they players quickly patched things up after Dzakovic asked for forgiveness. Abella said his import was just frustrated as the Water Defenders were losing grip of the game.
Bermillo said she has forgiven Dzakovic although she said she was reduced to tears due to embarrassment.
BaliPure lost all its 10 assignments in the conference.
Meanwhile, Pacifictown-Army brought out its A-game to make the semifinals along with Creamline. But coach Kungfu Reyes admitted that they need an even better performance for the final four starting on Wednesday.
“It’s our first priority, to rest and recover, because most probably we will be facing a young team in the semis,” said Reyes right after shutting out BanKo Perlas, 25-18, 25-14, 25-20.
Ukrainian Lena Lymareva-Flink unloaded 29 points for the Lady Troopers while Jenelle Jordan added 11.
