Philippine Sports Commission Chair Butch Ramirez wants a thorough selection process to pick the finest Filipino athletes for the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
“It is important for us to be transparent,” said Ramirez. “We should field the best among them because the success of Team Philippines hinges on the performances of our athletes.”
The national sports associations have been informed to prepare the credentials of their athletes and submit them immediately to the secretariat once the selection guidelines have been finalized.
The country is eyeing the overall title in the SEA Games, which it hosts from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11. —JUNE NAVARRO
