MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine Under-23 women’s volleyball team failed to tally a win in the 2019 Thailand Open Sealect Tuna Volleyball Championships after absorbing a  20-25, 12-25, 15-25 loss to 3BB Nakornnont Saturday at Sisaket Gym.

Despite going 0-3 in the group stage, the Philippines’ performance against 3BB Nakornnont, which was Alyssa Valdez’ former team in Thailand, was a vast improvement from its previous game against Japan’s Okayama Seagulls where the Filipinos badly lost 9-25, 12-25, 4-25.

The winless stint meant an early exit for the Philippines, which is composed of captain Celine Domingo, UAAP girls’ MVP Angel Canino, and a bunch of high school and collegiate role players.

3BB and Okayama, meanwhile, will play one more game to determine their place in the semifinal with final set on Monday.
