HOLLYWOOD—Keith Thurman warned Manny Pacquiao about the challenge the Filipino boxing superstar is about to face when they meet in the ring eight days from now at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao is confident about knocking out and silencing the trash-talking Thurman, but the hard-hitting American reminded the eight-division champion that what he intends to do has yet to be done.
“Obviously, he doesn’t think he’s done. He doesn’t like to talk about retirement. He’s going to come to dominate Keith Thurman, which is something no one’s ever done,” Thurman, who refers to himself in the third person, said in a conference call with international media.
“Pacquiao’s got a lot going for him. He wants to prove his greatness, prove his legacy is one that will never be forgotten even though it cannot be forgotten win, loss, draw – it cannot be forgotten because he’s accomplished so much in this sport of boxing.”
Thurman, who is 10 years younger, has never been stopped at 29-0 with 22 knockouts.
“I’m young. I definitely want to do more and on the 20th, I’m going to show you more,” he added.
His unblemished record, however, will be put to the ultimate test against Pacquiao, who is hands down his toughest and by far most decorated opponent yet.
