MANILA, Philippines—Letran came through late and withstood University of Perpetual Help in overtime, 82-80, for a third straight win in the NCAA Season 95 men’s basketball tournament Friday at Filoil Flying V Center.

Jeo Ambohot showed his heart in the extra frame as he gobbled up two offensive rebounds, the first off a miss from Ato Ular and the second a follow off his own brick, en route to the clutch layup that gave the Knights the 81-79 lead with 12.4 seconds to play.

Jielo Razon tried to send the game to a second overtime but he missed his baseline jumper, allowing Ambohot to secure the rebound and Letran’s 3-1 record.

“We’re still learning every now and then,” said Letran head coach Bonnie Tan.

Bonbon Batiller led Letran with 22 points while Ular had himself a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds.

Larry Muyang missed out on his own double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds while Ambohot had a similar fate finishing with nine points and 13 boards.

Edgard Charcos nearly had a triple-double for the Altas with 15 points, eight rebounds, and 10 assists.

The Altas have now lost two of their three games in the season.
