Mexican legend Julio Cesar Chavez expects Manny Pacquiao to win by decision

LAS VEGAS—Julio Cesar Chavez is the latest boxing great to take Manny Pacquiao’s side against Keith Thurman on Saturday.

Chavez, the legendary Mexican warrior, said that while there won’t be any knockout, he believes Pacquiao will beat Thurman on points.

“Pacquiao by decision,” Chavez said Friday.

Chavez joined the likes of Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera and Roberto Duran among many others to pick Pacquiao.

Oddsmakers also have Pacquiao as the favorite despite his age at 40.

Pacquiao, who is appearing in his 71st professional fight, is aiming to unify the WBA welterweight titles.

The 30-year-old Thurman, the WBA (Super) welterweight champion, on the other hand, is eyeing to send the eight-division champion into retirement with a statement victory.
