NCAA: JRU makes it back to back after upset of Perpetual Help

MANILA, Philippines–Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers drew a stellar performance from their young guns and pulled off a 71-66 upset of the highly favored Perpetual Altas in the NCAA Season 95 men’s basketball tournament.

John Amores proved his worth with 15 points while fellow rookie JL Delos Reyes also posted numbers that helped the Bombers notch their second straight win after dropping the first three matches.

Ry Dela Rosa bombed the Altas with four three-pointers, including a back-to-back threes midway in the final period when their rivals launched a comeback.

The Altas, who suffered their third defeat for a 1-3 record, leaned on the backcourt brilliance of Kim Aurin and speedy guard Edgar Charcos.
