MANILA, Philippines – NBA champion, NBA Finals MVP and former Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard added star power to the Manny Pacquiao – Keith Thurman World Boxing Association (WBA) world welterweight title fight in Las Vegas recently and found time to personally meet with the fighting senator from the Philippines.
In Pacquiao’s Instagram post on Wednesday, Leonard, who was named NBA Finals MVP after leading the Raptors past defending champion Golden State Warriors, was seen posing with Pacquiao who just annexed the WBA unified world welterweight title via a split decision.
Leonard, known in NBA circles for his nonchalant and calm demeanor, flashed a smile in the photo opportunity.
Pacquiao, a known basketball fan and a professional player himself, captioned the photo with a ‘hand’ emoji, referring to Leonard’s nickname “The Klaw” due to the cager’s incredibly big hands.
Leonard was one of the celebrities who showed up during the Pacquiao-Thurman fight, with undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. also in attendance.
