MANILA, Philippines–F2 Logistics weathered Generika-Ayala’s all-out attacks to score a hard-earned 25-19, 25-27, 25-22, 18-25, 15-13, win Saturday night and remain unbeaten in 10 games in the Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference at FilOil Flying V Center.
The Cargo Movers suddenly found themselves trailing, 11-8, in the fifth set against the Lifesavers who were bent on scoring a water-shed victory by handing them their first defeat in the conference.
But F2 Logistics dug deep in its big-game experience, chipping away at the lead mainly through birthday girl Kim Kianna Dy who came out of the bench despite a hurting hamstring.
Generika-Ayala captain Angeli Araneta gave her team one last stand, hitting a crosscourt for 12-all standoff. But the middle blocker had a bad landing, hurting her left knee in the process.
Araneta was recalled to the bench and things went downhill for the Lifesavers who fell to 6-5.
