NCAA cancels Friday’s basketball triple header

MANILA, Philippines — The NCAA canceled its men’s basketball triple-header at San Juan Arena on Friday after the late suspension of classes due to torrential rains in Metro Manila.

The games, which were initially scheduled to start at noon, between San Beda and St. Benilde, San Sebastian and Perpetual Help, and Arellano and Lyceum have all been rescheduled to a later date yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, the juniors’ games set in the morning still pushed through as scheduled.

La Salle-Greenhills escaped San Beda, 99-98, in overtime in the battle of top teams while Perpetual Help overcame San Sebastian, 67-62, for its second win so far.

The NCAA said tickets for Friday’s canceled games will still be honored on the rescheduled date.

With both teams tied at the pole with identical 4-0 card, the clash between the Blazers and the Red Lions would’ve given the tournament a solo leader.
