MANILA, Philippines—Geje Eustaquio suffered a brutal technical knockout loss to Yuya Wakamatsu 1:59 into the reserve bout of the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix in ONE: Dawn of Heroes Friday at Mall of Asia Arena.

Wakamatsu landed a stiff right straight that sent Eustaquio to the ground where the Japanese finished things off with a flurry of punches.

Eustaquio (12-8), a former World flyweight champion, has now lost two of his last three fights while Wakamatsu (11-4) got back to the winning column after losing his last two.

“It was very tough but I feel so happy,” said Wakamatsu through a translator. “I lost two times in a row but now I’m back.”

“I was very nervous in the first round and very scared but the right hand landed and all my sacrifices paid off.”

Three of the Lakay fighters in the preliminaries have all lost their bouts.
