MANILA, Philippines–Petron handily beat Marinerang Pilipina, 25-12, 25-17, 25-9, for their ninth straight victory Tuesday in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference.
Cherry Rondina and Bernadeth Pons led the Blaze Spikers’ demolition of the Lady Spikers for 11th win against just one loss.
Rondina paced Petron with 13 points off seven attacks, four service aces and two blocks while Pons nailed 11 points on top of 14 digs.
Petron head coach Shaq Delos Santos had the luxury to field all of his 14 players ahead of a crucial match against facing unbeaten leader F2 Logistics (11-0) on Thursday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
“I’m happy that all my players delivered,” said Delos Santos. “Fielding all of them was part of the game plan and as I told them to get ready, they played well-prepared.”
No one from Marinerang Pilipina, which dropped its 13th straight game, scored in double figures with Dimdim Pacres the lone bright spot with nine points.
