The NCAA Management Committee canceled five games Tuesday because of bad weather, and at the same time, announced a P100,000 donation to the province of Batanes that is reeling from the effects of a 5.9-magnitude earthquake that struck last month.

Batanes suffered damages on homes and historical structures, including the old Santa Maria de Mayan Church in Itbayat. There were nine reported fatalities, while 911 families, made up of 2,963 individuals, were affected.

Three men’s matches were among those that were called off at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan, including the clash between San Beda and Mapua and College of St. Benilde against Letran.
