The 29-year-old Phelps, a scoring and rebounding machine, last saw action for Phoenix in last year’s Governors’ Cup where he led the team to the No. 2 seed.

The Fuel Masters, however, were booted out by the seventh-ranked Meralco Bolts in the quarterfinals despite owning a twice-to-beat advantage.

Phelps is coming off a stint with Mighty Sports Philippines in the Jones Cup in Taiwan where he helped the squad claim the championship late last month.
