Rematch vs Keith Thurman or Jeff Horn not part of Manny Pacquiao’s plans

MANILA, Philippines–Manny Pacquiao, the newly-minted WBA (Super) welterweight champion, has options for his next fight.

But a rematch with either Keith Thurman or Jeff Horn is not one of them.

“No. Nothing to prove. [Thurman] had his shot. Game over,” said US matchmaker Sean Gibbons in an interview with the Philippine Star. “Horn who? Another desperate guy.”

Pacquiao beat Thurman by split decision three weeks ago in a fight where the Filipino legend showed he still has a lot left at 40 years old by delivering a vintage performance, knocking down the previously unbeaten American in the first round and hurting him several times throughout the thriller of a bout.

Horn, meanwhile, was rewarded with a highly-disputed unanimous decision victory over Pacquiao two years ago.

What piques Pacquiao’s interest, however, is a showdown with former champions Danny Garcia and Mikey Garcia and a second crack at Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“We want Mayweather,” said Gibbons.
