NCAA: Mapua pick up steam, beats EAC for 2nd straight win

MANILA, Philippines–Mapua leaned on its second unit in a huge run after halftime to subdue Emilio Aguinaldo College, 76-66, on Tuesday in the NCAA Season 95 men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Arena in San Juan.

Anchored on the gallant efforts of Cyril Gonzales, the Cardinals held their rivals scoreless for a long span in the third quarter while unloading 21 points that practically took the sting out of the Generals.

The Cardinals, who also defeated the Arellano Chiefs during the weekend, notched their second consecutive win for a 2-5 record while handing the Generals their sixth defeat in seven games.
