MANILA, Philippines—Kai Sotto is not yet done growing.
Already one of the tallest prospects in Philippine basketball today, the 17-year-old sensation now stands at 7’2” after growing a full inch, according to a post by East West Private, a US-based sports agency.
In the Instagram photo, the staff getting Sotto’s measurements is seen using a stool to reach the top of his head.
The former Ateneo star, who is back in the States to continue working out in his bid to make it to NBA, will likely grow taller in the few years but that’s not the only aspect that is going to make Sotto more lethal.
“That height will be deadly when his body fills in with muscle and he further builds up his stamina and agility and hones more basketball skills,” said EWP in a comment on the photo.
EWP also clarified that Sotto measures 7’3″ when wearing shoes.
Sotto led the Batang Gilas’ campaign in the 2019 Fiba Under-19 World Cup where he finished third in blocks with an average of 3.1 per game.
