PSL: Foton books semis berth, ousts PLDT

MANILA, Philippines–Foton woke up from a first-set nap to bring down PLDT Home Fibr, 16-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-12, Thursday night and make the semifinals of the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at FilOil Flying V Center.

Rookie Marian Buitre blended seamlessly with sisters Jaja Santiago and Dindin Manabat starting in the second set as the Tornadoes formalized their entry to the next round facing either F2 Logistics or Sta. Lucia Realty.

“We were in a hurry and every was rushing things,” said Buitre of the opening set. “But fortunately, we got to our own pace and stuck to the game plan.”

Buitre finished with 13 points for Foton which is hoping to finally get back its championship form.
