No stopping Ceres; Kaya also scores

Reigning champion Ceres Negros remained unstoppable halfway into the Philippines Football League season, while Kaya-Iloilo labored to another tough win on Wednesday night at Aboitiz pitch in Lipa, Batangas.

A brace from Mike Ott and a goal each from Carlie de Murga, Robert Mendy and Bienvenido Marañon propelled the Busmen to a 5-0 demolition of Stallion Laguna that sent them three points ahead of Kaya at the top of the table with 31 points.

Kaya needed a late goal from Jordan Mintah to overcome Green Archers Globe, 1-0, in the other game in Lipa, while Philippine Air Force notched a 1-0 win over Mendiola at PFF Training Center.

The win upped Kaya’s tally to 28 points.
