NCAA: San Sebastian escapes Letran to end 3-game slide
MANILA, Philippines—San Sebastian survived Letran, 102-101, in overtime to stop a three-game skid in the NCAA Season 95 men’s basketball tournament Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Ken Villapando played hero and nailed the game-winning basket for the Stags, who blew a 17-point lead.
Article continues after this advertisement“The boys just really wanted to win,” said San Sebastian assistant coach Melo Banua, filling in for head coach Egay Macaraya, who served a one-game suspension.
RK Ilagan led San Sebastian, which leveled its record to 3-3, with 22 points while Allyn Bulanadi added 21 points.
The Stags spoiled a career-game by Letran big man Larry Muyang, who delivered 32 points and 18 rebounds.
