NCAA: Perpetual Help bags 1st win without head coach Frankie Lim

MANILA, Philippines—University of Perpetual Help escaped Emilio Aguinaldo College, 88-87, in the NCAA Season 95 men’s basketball tournament Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Ben Adamos sealed the game, 88-84, with 46.7 ticks to go as the Altas won their first game minus Frankie Lim, who was reportedly placed on leave after the team’s brutal 102-56 beatdown at the hands of San Beda last week.

Myk Saguiguit took over as interim coach.

Five Altas hit double digits led by Rey Peralta’s 19. Adamos posted 11 points and 13 rebounds.

The Altas improved to 3-5 but not before fending off the pesky Generals, who came back from 15 down.

CJ Cadua paced Emilio Aguinaldo College with 22 points.
