June Mar Fajardo skips Beermen victory party to rejoin Gilas practice

MANILA, Philippines–While the rest of the San Miguel Beermen celebrated their latest championship conquest with employees and fans, their MVP and cornerstone June Mar Fajardo was back in the gym.

This time, Fajardo is representing the national team as Gilas Pilipinas prepares for the Fiba World Cup.

Fajardo on Tuesday finally rejoined Gilas in practice four days after helping the Beermen beat the TNT KaTrop in six games in the Commissioner’s Cup finals.

“June Mar joined us for a bit earlier but he had to go because of his obligations with the national team,” SMB head coach Leo Austria said in Filipino.

“We support him and we don’t want him to miss another practice with the national team because we all know how important he is for them.”

Apart from Fajardo, TNT standouts Roger Pogoy and Troy Rosario also returned for Gilas.
