PVL: BanKo blanks Choco Mucho for 2nd straight win

MANILA, Philippines—BanKo showed its might and overpowered Choco Mucho, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23, for its second straight win in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Wednesday at Filoil Flying V Center.

The Perlas Spikers improved to a 4-2 record to stay at second seed while the Flying Titans dropped to a 2-2 slate.

Dzi Gervacio gave BanKo a 20-15 lead in the third fram but the Flying Titans managed to make one last push to take the set and cut the Perlas Spikers’ lead to one, 21-20, on Mary Grace Berte’s service ace.

Choco Mucho stayed within striking distance until the end with Maddie Madayag putting them within  24-23.

Jem Ferrer, however, timed a dump perfectly to finish things off.

“We know that Choco Mucho is capable of long rallies but on our part every one of us contributed and had our games working for us,” said captain Nicole Tiamzon in Filipino.

Kathy Bersola had 15 points to lead the Perlas Spikers while Gervacio and Tiamzon had 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Maddie Madayag finished with 15 points for the Flying Titans.
