/ 05:20 AM September 01, 2019

The seventh Goodwill Cup, an interclub championship among Fil-Estate-owned golf courses, ends on Sept. 6 with Camp John Hay (CJH) gunning for its first-ever crown at home.

“We are excited to host the tournament and hopefully win it,” said John Hay general manager Tim Allen. “Our hopes are high because we haven’t lost in our home course since the event started.”

Despite sweeping the first three legs, John Hay will enter the final stage with 100 points, ahead of Forest Hills and Sherwood Hills, which are tied with 67.5 points apiece. The fourth team, Manila Southwoods, brings up the rear with 35 points.

Forest Hills and Sherwood Hills can still win the crown if John Hay finishes no higher than third place.

Southwoods, on the other hand, can pull through a big comeback if it wins the final leg and John Hay ends up last.
