MANILA, Philippines—The UAAP on Sunday announced that 3×3 basketball has been upgraded to an official sport in the league beginning this Season 82.
Two seasons ago, the league debuted 3×3 basketball as a demonstration sport.
During the UAAP Season 82 press conference, UAAP president Em Fernandez also said the league has added boys and girls Lawn Tennis as demo sports while also making boys and girls lawn tennis part of the medal events this season.
The newly-added event, which will have Far Eastern University as its sub-host, tips off in March 2020 as the league will now have a total of 31 medal events.
Beach volleyball, which will be sub-hosted by University of Santo Tomas, unfurls in January 2020 while lawn tennis, which will be sub-hosted by National University, is scheduled to take place in February 2020.
