PVL: PetroGazz turns back Choco Mucho for 3rd straight win

MANILA, Philippines–PetroGazz got enough fuel on its tank in outlasting Choco Mucho, 25-22, 25-15, 19-25, 20-25, 14-3, Wednesday in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at FilOil Flying V Center.

Role players Jonah Sabete and Maricar Baloaloa scored a bundle of points in the fifth set as the Angels regained their composure after losing control of the third and fourth frames.

It was PetroGazz’s third win in a row, hiking its record to 4-2, while Choco Mucho dropped to 2-4.

Shannen Palec and Carla Sandoval joined hands in a 5-1 spurt in the fourth, giving the Flying Titans enough impetus to extend the match to full distance.

But Baloaloa and Sabete sparked an 8-0 start in the deciding set, coupled by unforced errors by the Flying Titans to handily cruise to victory.
