MANILA, Philippines–Creamline nipped in the bud PacificTown-Army’s comeback try in the third set to preserve a 25-23, 28-26, 26-24 triumph Wednesday night and remain unbeaten in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at FilOil Flying V Center.


The Cool Smashers stared at a 12-5 deficit in the third as the Lady Troopers threatened to mount an uprising after losing the first two frames.

But Alyssa Valdez fired the clutch hits, firing four of Creamline’s final five points for their seventh victory in as many matches.


It was the Lady Troopers’ third straight defeat since posting a 2-0 start that was capped by a five-set come-from-behind win over the Chocho Mucho FlyingTitans two weeks ago.
