Open workouts, eSports tournaments lined up for ONE Martial Arts Fan Fest in Tokyo

MANILA, Philippines—To drum up interest for its historic 100th event, ONE Championship is launching a Martial Arts Fan Fest from October 5 to 6 at Bellesalle Shibuya in Tokyo.

The two-day event has lined up open workouts, seminars, eSports tournaments and a special edition of Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series: Japan vs. the World, where the top athlete will get a $100,000 contract with the promotion.

ONE martial artists who are joining the festivities are Demetrious Johnson, Eddie Alvarez, Shinya Aoki, Brandon Vera, Aung La N Sang, Martin Nguyen, Angela Lee, Franklin, and Miesha Tate.

The fan fest is broken into three categories each; martial arts, gaming, and meet and greet.

On October 5, a Shin Karate amateur competition is scheduled from 10 am to 11 am followed by the Warrior Series from 1:30 pm to 6 pm.

The ONE Tekken Tokyo Invitational is scheduled for entire Oct. 5 while meet and greet events for the ONE ring girls, Nguyen, Tate, Yoshihiro Akiyama, and siblings Angela and Christian Lee are set from 11 am to 4:30 pm.

Meanwhile, a Shooto amateur competition demonstration, and open workout kick start the martial arts events on Oct. 6 from 10 am to 12 pm.

Tate is scheduled for MMA seminar before Pancrase open workout and a grappling seminar with Aoki.

An open workout featuring the athletes in the Century card from 4:30 pm to 6 pm close out the martial arts events on Day 2.

ONE Street Fighter V Arcade Edition Tokyo Invitational is scheduled for Oct. 6 and another session of meet and greet for the ring girls, Tate, Aoki, ONE Chairman Chatri Sityodtong, and other personalities from 11 am to 4:30 pm.
