MANILA, Philippines–Tots Carlos and Isa Molde picked up the slack from their fallen teammate to lead Motolite over BanKo Perlas, 25-16, 25-21, 19-25, 29-31, 19-17, late Wednesday in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at FilOil Flying V Center.
Carlos accounted for 29 points, while Molde fired 24 as the Motolite Spikers survived losing a two-sets-to-none advantage and two match points in scoring their fifth win in seven games.
They efforts compensated for the loss of team leader Myla Pablo who is nursing an injured ankle and watched the game in the sidelines.
Motolite had four match points of its own, including two in the third set, but Nicole Tiamzon and Sue Roces kept BanKo Perlas alive with crucial hits in the extended last two frames.
The Perlas Spikers, who had two match points, saw their four-game winning streak cut to fall to 5-3.
