Unbeaten Creamline clashes with winless Chef’s Classics on Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at Filoil Flying V Centre, and don’t be surprised if the current league leaders will manage despite the absence of stars Alyssa Valdez and Jia Morado.
The Cool Smashers swept their way through the first round at 8-0 and will open their second round against the young and inexperienced Red Spikers. Valdez and Morado will skip the game as they are flying out to join the national team’s training camp in Thailand on Sunday.
“I have full confidence in Kyle (Negrito),” said Morado of her back-up setter who will be left to orchestrate the plays. “And we are well trained anyway to respond and communicate to the one who is setting.”
With its two stars out, Creamline will rely on the likes of Michelle Gumabao, Risa Sato and Jema Galanza.
