Rising Filipino Romero Duno stretched his winning run to 12 after stopping Ivan Delgado in their lightweight clash Sunday (Manila time) at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Duno, the WBO NABO lightweight champion, forced Delgado to quit on his stool after seven rounds.

The 23-year-old Duno improved his record to 21-0 with 16 knockouts.

Duno, who is based in Los Angeles, hasn’t lost since May 2016.

After the bout, Duno quickly shifted his sights on the undefeated Ryan Garcia (18-0, 15 KOs) for his next fight. He wore a shirt that says “Ryan Garcia next stop running” during the post-fight interview.

A fight between the two was initially planned after Garcia’s original opponent Avery Sparrow was arrested before the weigh-in due to a domestic violence incident.

Garcia and Golden Boy Promotions, however, reportedly couldn’t get a deal done for the Duno bout to materialize.
