Kiefer Ravena relishes return to UAAP as TV analyst
MANILA, Philippines—Kiefer Ravena is used to being the center of attention in the UAAP, being a two-time champion and a two-time MVP in the collegiate league and going on as one of the most recognizable faces in the PBA.
From being the one scrutinized on TV, Ravena had a role reversal on Sunday when he became the color commentator in the game between University of Santo Tomas and National University at Mall of Asia Arena.

“It was a good treat for everybody and it was an exciting game,” said Ravena after the Growling Tigers’ 87-74 overtime win against the Bulldogs. “UST really showed a lot of composure especially in overtime.”
The Growling Tigers outscored the Bulldogs 17-4 in the final five minutes to get their third win in four games en route to the second seed, half-a-game behind Ravena’s alma mater Ateneo that has a 4-0 slate.

“I just wanted to try it out and I actually enjoyed it,” said Ravena who admitted that there were instances when he wasn’t sure if his thoughts could be translated to words on live TV.
“May mga gusto akong sabihin na ‘di mo puwedeng sabihin kagaya ng ‘hayop na tira ‘yun!’ kasi ‘di mo talaga maiiwasan,” said Ravena.
