MANILA, Philippines–Ramon “Tats” Suzara will stay on as chief operating officer of the Philippines Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee.
Suzara confirmed late Wednesday that he would report back to work on Oct. 1 as pointman of the organizing committee after Phisgoc released a memo saying he was just on official leave.
“I’ll be back on Oct. 1,’’ was the brief reply of Suzara through a text message to the Inquirer.

Suzara, the chief architect of the country’s SEA Games hosting blueprint on Nov. 30-Dec. 11, went to Japan for the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Cup from Sept. 14-30 and possible engagement with organizers of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Suzara is also one of the eight original incorporators of the Phisgoc chaired by House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano.
While Suzara is away, Jojit Alcazar has been appointed officer-in-charge of Phisgoc.
“To date, the current organizational chart remains the same,’’ said Alcazar, who issued the memo to the across the entire Phisgoc organization.
“As we draw closer to the Games, all officials of the top management and the respective officials and members of all functional areas should perform their regular duties and functions,’’ added Alcazar.
