Ababa takes 2-shot lead

Jonel Ababa gunned down two eagles in a second straight five-under-par 67 Thursday to wrest a two-stroke lead over Zannieboy Gialon after 36 holes of the ICTSI Del Monte Championship.

Ababa also had five birdies to go with those two pitch-in eagles in a 33-34 card marred by four bogeys for a 134 aggregate. Gialon had eight birdies in a 65 to vault into contention at 136, even as rookie Ira Alido shot a 69 to lead a three-man group one shot behind, counting first round coleader Antonio Lascuña, who shot a 70.
