MANILA, Philippins Team Lakay prospect Jerry Olsim will plunge into action in Tokyo a week before the blockbuster ONE: Century card takes place.

The undefeated Olsim faces Ryoji Kudo in the co-main event of ONE Warrior Series 8: Japan vs. The World on Oct. 5 during the ONE Martial Arts Fan Fest at Bellesalle Shibuya Garden.

Olsim (6-0) already has four wins in the Warrior Series, a competition that would allow the promotion to choose its next viable talent and give him or her a six-figure contract, while Kudo (4-1-1) looks to build further momentum after a stale three-fight stretch.

Kudo won his last fight against Taison Naito in Shooto but his previous two bouts ended in a loss and a draw.

“We are excited to take the ONE Warrior Series event to Japan and test their history of mixed martial arts against athletes from other countries around the world,” said ONE Warrio Series CEO Rich Franklin.

“There are 14 countries represented on this card, as well as several athletes from both Pancrase and Shooto,” added Franklin.

Olsim, like his Team Lakay stablemates, brings a fast-paced style focused mainly on striking that has earned him two knockout victories and the endearment of fans.
