MANILA, Philippines—As the old adage goes, save the best for last.
Defending champion National University will take the floor last in the UAAP Season 82 cheerdance competition as it guns for a second straight championship and sixth title overall.
Pep Squad head coach Ghicka Bernabe acknowledged that all eyes are on her team when they take on the floor on Nov. 17 at Mall of Asia Arena and it would be a failure for them if they don’t deliver on the people’s expectations.
“Since everyone is expecting a lot from us, it would be a failure for us if we won’t give the people a beautiful performance,” said Bernabe in Filipino during the competition’s press conference Wednesday at MOA Arena.
Season 81’s last placer De La Salle will open the proceedings while University of the East, the no. 5 team last year, will perform second.
University of the Philippines, the joint holder of the most titles in competition history with eight, will take the floor third with Ateneo, which finished seventh in Season 81, will be at fourth.
